New data: Poll shows voters strongly back climate-related infrastructure investments

A new analysis from Hart Research of survey data from 19 competitive House districts across the country revealed remarkably strong support, across party lines, for President Joe Biden’s American Jobs Plan. Notably, the provisions that would address the climate crisis garnered even stronger support than the overall infrastructure plan did.

Legislature passes C-PACE bill to turbocharge green energy efficiency financing

Following its passage through the New Jersey State Senate Environment and Energy Committee and the Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee, the Assembly and Senate passed on Thursday the Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy (C-PACE) bill. A2374 passed the Senate with a 38-1 vote and 63-12-5 in the Assembly. The bill is on Governor Murphy’s desk and the legislation mirrors recommendations in the Governor's Energy Master Plan.

Friends of the New Jersey School of Conservation (NJSOC) are celebrating after receiving news that the state proposed budget includes $1 million in funding to keep the school open and operating. Last year, Montclair State University abruptly closed the NJSOC, turned the facility over to the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP), and suspended all programming citing financial hardship due to the pandemic.

Legislation To Greenlight Offshore Wind Transmission Lines Via NJBPU Petition Passes NJ Senate & Assembly

Trenton – Legislation to greenlight offshore wind projects to construct transmission interconnection lines through a petition process to NJBPU that would supersede local restrictions passed by healthy margins through the Legislature today. The State Senate passed S3926 by a 25-13-2 margin and the General Assembly passed A5894 by a 49-26-5 margin. The bill’s intent is to stand up offshore wind along the timelines set out within the solicitation schedule set out by the NJBPU and Governor Murphy.
